Celebrating your loved one
I always consider it such an honour to be asked to prepare and conduct a ceremony that recognises and celebrates the life of an individual. While this is obviously a sad time for those who have lost their Loved One, by focusing on the positives, I try to make sure that the farewell ceremony remains an uplifting time for the bereaved.
In this way it becomes a celebration of life, an opportunity to acknowledge the joy that the deceased had brought to the lives of those around them, to recognise their accomplishments and acknowledge the uniqueness of the individual’s life.
How I work
You may wish for the ceremony to take place at a green burial ground, crematorium or cemetery, or you may prefer a memorial service to be held in a location that was special to your loved one (for example at a club where they were a member or outdoors at their favourite spot) It might be that you want to install a memorial bench, or plant a tree in honour of your loved one, and you’d like to an officiant to lead the occasion – I can help.

If you are planning a Living Wake (sometimes called a Living Funeral), where you get to be present at your own funeral, hosting the ‘best farewell party of your life’, then I’d be only to happy to help you with this.
While anyone can hold a Living Wake, it’s most often used by individuals with a very limited life-expectancy, and it’s a wonderful opportunity to spend time with and say goodbye to those family & friends who mean the most to you.
It doesn’t need to feel morbid or miserable, in fact it’s an opportunity to be completely upbeat and celebrate all those wonderful moments in your life!

For longer ceremonies, or those further away, or needing an overnight stay, any additional costs will be discussed and agreed in advance, according to individual circumstances.
